Joey Votto mentioned in an interview Sunday that he would rather retire than play at a poor level. (ESPN.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Even though Votto has about $200 million left of guaranteed money over the next eight seasons, he would rather retire than play at the level he is now. Keep in mind that Votto started in a similar fashion last season and still finished the year with a .314 average and .459 OBP. Votto is frustrated and this could be a turning point early in the season. See how the next few weeks play out and keep Votto in your lineup. When Votto is hot, there aren't many players better than him.
