Carlos Ruiz collects three hits in loss to Cardinals

The Phillies have struggled with the bats all season and that trend continued in Monday's 10-3 loss to the Cardinals. One player who has not succumbed to the hitting woes is Carlos Ruiz, who went 3-for-4 with a double. Ruiz is now batting a robust .341 for the season.
Fantasy Impact:
Ruiz is making the most of his more limited role, starting about 40 percent of the games. His on-base percentage is .413 and his OPS is a very impressive 1.047. While Ruiz is no longer an every day catcher, he could be a valuable backup to play a couple days a week.
