Justin Upton reaches base three times on Sunday

by Chris Zolli | Sun, May 8th 5:04pm EDT

Justin Upton finished 0-for-2 with an RBI and two walks in a 8-3 loss for the Tigers on Sunday against the Rangers. Upton had a hitless weekend series against the Tigers, but did have two walks on both Saturday and Sunday. Upton's first season in Detroit has not been a strong one, as he has a .612 OPS in 119 at-bats.

Fantasy Impact:

Upton had doubles in back-to-back games coming into this weekend, so his hitless weekend is a massive disappointment for fantasy owners. The biggest issue for Upton is his strikeouts, as he has struck out 47 times this season and has struck out in nine of the last 10 games. Until he can have better plate discipline, he will not be the top-20 OF that fantasy owners assumed that he would be.
