Carlos Beltran pounds two home runs

by Chris Zolli | Tue, May 10th 8:12am EDT

Carlos Beltran was the story in the Yankees 6-3 win over the Royals on Monday, connecting with two solo home runs to bring his season total to six. Beltran only has a .245 batting average this season, but he is on pace for more than 20 home runs and 80 RBI.

Fantasy Impact:

Beltran started the season hot, but only finished April with a .276 OBP, posting three walks and 21 strikeouts. May has not been better for Beltran in the way of plate discipline, as he has struck out six times without a walk, but he does have a passable .455 slugging percentage in 110 at-bats this season. Beltran is a career. 280 hitter, and hit .276 in an injury plagued 2015, so expect his average to jump from .245 as the weather warms up, and for Beltran to finish with an OPS in the low-.800s.
