Shin-Soo Choo hoping that he is closer to Texas

by Chris Zolli | Tue, May 10th 7:42pm EDT

Shin-Soo Choo is looking to make it back to the Rangers lineup after a promising stay in Arizona. Choo will make stops in Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock before hopefully rejoining the Rangers for their May 20-22 series against the Houston Astros. He has not played since April 10, hampered by a calf injury. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)

Fantasy Impact:

This is solid news for Choo owners, who expected him to be out for four-to-six weeks, but it may not be as good as they hoped. Nomar Mazara and Ian Desmond have solidified the corner outfield spots and, while Prince Fielder playing 1B nightly would open the DH spot for Choo, Fielder is not the best 1B. The Rangers will have a tough decision when Choo returns, especially since 33-year-old had 57 extra-base hits and an .838 OPS in 2015.
