Carlos Gomez continues struggles Thursday

by James Ignatius Zeankowski | Thu, May 12th 11:02pm EDT

In Thursday's blowout loss to the Boston Red Sox, Carlos Gomez made another start in center field and went 0-for-4 with a strikeout, pop out and a pair of ground outs, with one of the ground outs as a double play. Gomez has lowered his average down to .196 on the season.

Fantasy Impact:

In his first 112 at-bats in 2015 with the Brewers, Gomez was batting .268. In those same amount of games in 2016 with the Astros, he already is tallying an average 72 points lower. This is a clear indication of offensive withdrawal on the part of this veteran outfielder. Owners may need to sit or drop Gomez going forward, as there seems to be no significant progress at the plate.
