Jordan Zimmermann has lost twice in a row

by Chris Zolli | Sat, May 14th 9:59pm EDT

After starting 5-0 this season, Jordan Zimmermann has lost each of his last two starts in a painful manner. He pitched 15 innings over those two starts, allowing three runs in each start, with the Tigers getting one-hit by Cole Hamels in one start and Max Scherzer striking out 20 batters in the other start. He will start on Monday against the Twins.

Fantasy Impact:

Zimmermann leads the American League with a 1.50 ERA and is ninth in the league with 48 innings pitched. He will not contribute in strikeouts, although he has struck out seven and eight batters in starts this season, but he has opened the season with seven consecutive quality starts, one of two pitchers with more than one start and 100% quality starts (J.A. Happ). Twins' batters only have 35 at-bats against Zimmermann, posting a .564 OPS, and has a 1.66 ERA in three starts at Comerica Park in his career.
