Jose Bautista

Jose Bautista hit by pitch and ejected from Sunday's game

by Peter Ringel | Sun, May 15th 11:34pm EDT

Jose Bautista was 1-for-3 with three RBI on Sunday. Bautista was hit by a pitch in the eighth inning, and as the next batter hit into a potential double play, Bautista slid hard into Rangers' second baseman Rougned Odor attempting to break up the double play. Odor then shoved Bautista and punched him in the face, which led to both teams leaving their dugouts and charging the field. Bautista was subsequently thrown out of the game, along with a few other players, including Odor.

Fantasy Impact:

Bautista has been in a bit of a slump and has not homered since May 6th. He is batting .217 with six home runs and 25 RBI on the season. Perhaps Sunday's brawl will snap Bautista out of his early season funk.
