Evan Longoria joins the Rays hit parade on Tuesday

by Mike Werner | Wed, May 18th 1:32am EDT

Evan Longoria went 2-for-6 with a double and a run scored in the Rays' 12-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Fantasy Impact:

Longoria singled, and scored in the first inning off of Marcus Stroman, and would also double off of the talented rightie in the sixth inning. While he does possess the third-highest K% amongst third baseman (24%), he remains top-10 or close to it in runs scored, home runs, and RBI's thus far. Longoria has also logged hits in eight of-his-last nine, with three of-the-last four being of the multi-hit variety, which brings his May slash line to .291/.365/.582 with three home runs and nine RBI. He may not be the fantasy asset he once was, but he's on pace to hit 31 home runs, drive in 83, score 96 runs, while batting .253. The runs may not finish that way, but if everything else came close, then we'd certainly be looking at a top-10 option.
