Brandon Belt's batting average drops below .300
by Benjamin Bukacek | Fri, May 20th 12:19am EDT
San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt was 0-for-3 in Thursday's 3-1 win over the San Diego Padres. This followed another hitless game on Wednesday dropping Belt's batting average below .300 for the first time since May 1st.
Fantasy Impact:
Brandon Belt hasn't hit a home run since May 4th, which is some of the concern of fantasy owners. Despite the lack of home runs, he is still batting for a good average this season and it's apparent pitchers are working smartly around him shown by his 13 walks already this month. When Belt gets pitches to hit, he can be a standout fantasy option every game. There's no reason to bench Belt on your roster at this time.
