Carlos Ruiz goes 0-for-4 in loss to Tigers

by Kerry Kauffman | Wed, May 25th 12:26am EDT

The Phillies' offensive woes continued on Tuesday, managing just five hits in a 3-1 loss to the Tigers. Carlos Ruiz, who had been swinging a hot bat, went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. He's now 0-for-14 in his last four starts and is batting .243 for the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Despite the recent struggled, Ruiz is on pace for 11 home runs and a decent .722 OPS in a backup role. He likely won't see any additional action until later this week or on the weekend, as Cameron Rupp continues to see about two-thirds of the starts behind the plate.
