Jay Bruce

Jay Bruce a solid mid-tier option on Wednesday

by Chris Zolli | Wed, May 25th 5:50pm EDT

Jay Bruce has limited experience against the Dodgers' starter on Wednesday, Scott Kazmir, but is 2-for-3 with a double against the left-handed starter. His batting average is also .286 on the road, better than his .264 batting average overall, and he is coming off of a night where he had a double and run scored.

Fantasy Impact:

There is not much going on with the Reds offense as late, which could scare many away from Bruce and his .190 batting average over the last seven days. While there is a decent case to be made to start Bruce tonight, only look to play him in larger tournaments where he will have a drastically lower ownership rate. If he is able to drive in a run and have an extra-base hit or two, he would be a huge piece of a successful lineup.
