Carlos Gonzalez worth a look on Thursday

by Chris Zolli | Thu, May 26th 5:57pm EDT

Carlos Gonzalez has never faced Clay Buchholz, the Red Sox projected starter, but Gonzalez's .297 batting average and Buchholz's 5.92 ERA make him at least interesting. His batting average is only .224 for the month, but he does have six hits in his last three games. Gonzalez sports a .761 OPS.

Fantasy Impact:

A lack of experience against Buchholz makes Gonzalez a questionable call, but batting in front of Mark Reynolds makes him more interesting. Reynolds has three extra-base hits in 15 at-bats against Buchholz and, if Gonzalez is getting on base, he can be driven in by Reynolds. Gonzalez has a .343 OBP on the road, compared to .299 at home, and if he can be patient in front of Reynolds, he could be good for a double-digit point night in DFS.
