Clay Buchholz may lose rotation spot

by John Aubin | Fri, May 27th 8:19am EDT

Clay Buchholz (2-5) only lasted five innings against Colorado on Thursday, allowing six runs and seven hits while fanning two. Buchholz may have his next turn in the rotation skipped after the tough start Thursday against the Rockies, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports. (Iam Browne on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Buchholz has been extremely frustrating for Red Sox fans and fantasy owners as the talented pitcher is now 2-5 on the season with a 6.35 ERA and 1.46 WHIP. With Eduardo Rodriguez ready to come off the DL the Sox will need to make a move in the rotation and Buchholz will probably be the guy to lose his spot. Do not be surprised if he ends up with an "injury" and gets a DL stint to get things right. In the meantime, Buchholz owners should be on the waiver wire finding his replacement.
