Evan Longoria homers, helps Rays end skid

by Mike Werner | Sat, May 28th 8:06pm EDT

Evan Longoria went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, and four RBI total in the Rays' 9-5 win over the Yankees on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact:

Longoria started off his day with a sac-fly that scored Brandon Guyer in the first inning to give the Rays an early lead. In the second, Longoria belted a Michael Pineda offering over the center field wall for a two-run bomb, and sealing Pineda's fate. He drove in his fourth run of the game in the fourth inning on an RBI single. The Rays had lost three-straight coming into this matchup, as well as six of-the-last seven, so the win was much needed. Longoria's homer was his ninth on the year, and 30th against the Yankees in his career. He's currently on pace for 31 home runs and 83 RBI, benchmarks he hasn't hit since 2013.
