Brandon Phillips extends hitting streak to nine games

by Brad Richter | Mon, Jun 6th 3:17pm EDT

Phillips went 3-for-5 with a double, run, RBI and steal in the Reds 10-9 loss to the Nationals Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

Phillips now has a nine-game hitting streak, batting .389 with a pair of doubles, five runs and four RBI during the streak. The 34-year-old second basemen is batting .268 with six homers and four steals in 51 games this season. While he will have a hard time matching the 23 steals he had a season ago, he is already half way to his 12 home run mark last year. Phillips is a viable fantasy middle infielder in standard mixed leagues.
