Ryan Howard homers in win over Cubs

by Kerry Kauffman | Tue, Jun 7th 10:10pm EDT

The Phillies broke through against the Cubs with a 3-2 win on Tuesday. Ryan Howard provided a big blow with his ninth home run of the season. The solo shot raised his RBI total to 20. He finished 1-for-3 with a walk and is now batting .153 for the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Howard started for the first time in a week. He's just 4-for-28 since May 24th with a home run and two RBI. Howard is on pace for 20 home runs and 55 RBI, but has a dreadful .217 on-base percentage and .570 OPS. Expect Tommy Joseph to get most of the playing time at first base moving forward, but Howard can still provide an occasional power boost.
