Manny Machado suspended four games but will play Thursday

Machado was issued a four-game suspension and fined for charging the mound after he was hit by Yordano Ventura Wednesday. However, Machado is in the Orioles' Thursday night lineup batting third against the Blue Jays indicating that he is appealing his suspension. (Eduardo A. Encina on Twitter)

Machado will look to get his suspension reduced before serving his time. He has gone just 3-for-20 over his last six games but has hit a double and a homer during that span. The final length and timing of when his suspension kicks in will determine if he should be benched in weekly leagues.
