Jaime Garcia allowed four runs (three earned) over 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the Astros on Tuesday. Garcia gave up 8 hits and struck out two. The loss dropped Garcia to 4-6 on the season.
Fantasy Impact:
Garcia has really struggled in recent weeks after getting off to a great start this season. As a ground-ball specialist, Garcia needs an excellent infield defense to be effective, and the Cardinals lack that. With an ERA pushing 4.00 and a mediocre strikeout rate, Garcia is just a matchups play at this point. He should be benched for his next start against the Cubs.
