Clayton Kershaw struck out eight in seven innings

Clayton Kershaw allowed six hits, one earned run, and struck out eight in seven innings Monday night against the Washington Nationals. 75-of-106 pitches were thrown for strikes.

Fantasy Impact:

Kershaw has allowed more than two earned runs in a game just once this season, when he gave up five earned runs to the Marlins in April. He also has not walked more than one batter in a game. In fact, Kershaw has allowed a ridiculous seven walks total. On the year, he's sporting a 1.57 ERA, 0.67 WHIP with 141 strikeouts in 115 innings. Kershaw is next scheduled to start in Pittsburgh to face the Pirates, a team that ranks 7th in OPS against left-handed pitching.
