Fernando Rodney finally gives up a run but locks down 15th save

by Dan Harris | Wed, Jun 22nd 9:50am EDT

Fernando Rodney notched his 15th save of the season on Tuesday against the Orioles, throwing 1 1/3 innings and allowing one run. It was the first earned run allowed by Rodney all season.

Fantasy Impact:

The Padres are actually seeking to have the run be deemed unearned, as Pedro Alvarez's easy ground ball hit the first base bag and rolled under Wil Myers' glove for the RBI hit. Regardless of whether Rodney has allowed one or zero earned runs this season, he's been absolutely dominant, and likely the bargain closer of fantasy drafts. He should continue to pile on the saves until or unless he is dealt closer to the trade deadline.
