Cole Hamels keeps the Rangers rolling
by Mitch Cox | Wed, Jun 29th 1:47am EDT
Cole Hamels delivered a dominating performance on Tuesday, holding the New York Yankees scoreless over seven innings of work to lead the Texas Rangers to a 7-1 victory. Hamels, now 9-1 on the year, allowed six hits, walked one and struck out seven in lowering his season ERA to 2.60.
Fantasy Impact:
The Rangers are pushing Ian Desmond and Adrian Beltre for the All-Star game, but if anyone should be a shoo-in for the mid-summer classic, it's Hamels. He has lost just one time since being acquired by the Rangers at last year's trading deadline and is making a run at this year's Cy Young Award.
