Matt Moore blanks Red Sox

by Chris Zolli | Angels Correspondent | Wed, Jun 29th 8:56pm EDT

Matt Moore allowed three hits and one walk while striking out six batters over seven scoreless innings against the Red Sox on Wednesday. He has a 3.72 ERA this month and has quality starts in four of his last five starts. Moore is now 4-5 and has a 4.67 ERA this season leading into his start against the Angels on Monday.

Fantasy Impact:

Moore's scoreless outing was his second in four starts and he has pitched into the seventh inning in four of his last five starts. He has still allowed more than a hit per inning (99 in 96 1/3 innings), but his 1.09 WHIP in June could show that better days are on the horizon for the 27-year-old. Current Angels' batters have a .704 OPS in 38 at-bats against Moore, but Albert Pujols and Mike Trout have each hit home runs off of the left-hander.
