Max Scherzer with another double-digit strikeout performance

by Chris Zolli | Rangers Correspondent | Wed, Jun 29th 10:12pm EDT

Max Scherzer allowed two hits and one walk over seven shutout innings against the Mets on Wednesday while striking out 10 batters. This is the sixth double-digit strikeout game in his last nine starts for Scherzer, who will finish June with a 1.98 ERA and 0.73 WHIP. He will face the Brewers on Monday and is 9-5 with a 3.30 ERA and 0.96 WHIP this season.

Fantasy Impact:

This is a great bounce back start for Scherzer, who allowed five runs in his last start, to maintain his status as a top-10 SP. Scherzer has also walked one batter or fewer in each of his last three double-digit strikeout performances. He just allowed five runs to the Brewers on June 24 , but current Brewers have a .474 OPS against Scherzer in 71 at-bats.
