Hanley Ramirez (side) hopes to play on Friday. Ramirez tweaked his side when he took a massive hack with the bases loaded in the sixth inning of Wednesday's showdown with the Rays. As the slugger explained it, "Side got really tight. I talked to John [Farrell] and we’re just trying to prevent something big. He told me that we’re not going to put your season on the line. Take care of that and be ready to go Friday." (Boston Herald)
