A.J. Griffin has strong effort wasted

by Mitch Cox | Thu, Jun 30th 10:44pm EDT

A.J. Griffin allowed just two hits and one run over five innings of work, but the Texas Rangers could do nothing against Yankee starter Michael Pineda in falling to New York 2-1 on Thursday. Griffin walked two and struck out eight. His only mistake was a solo home run off the bat of last night's hero, Didi Gregorius.

Fantasy Impact:

This marks the first time the Rangers have lost two games in a row since mid-May, and these two have been painful. Last night, the bullpen gave up six runs in the bottom of the ninth, and today, it was a lead off walk and a passed ball that sent the Rangers to the showers. Meanwhile, Griffin did his job in his second start back after being on the DL.
