Matt Moore pitches well through trade rumors

As the Rays spiral down in the AL playoff picture, players like Matt Moore have become very interesting for contending teams. The Red Sox and Royals have inquired on the price of the 27-year-old left-hander and recent reports have linked him with the Yankees. He has a 5-5 record and 4.54 ERA this season, allowing two runs on six hits in 6 2/3 innings against the Angels yesterday. (NBC Sports)

Fantasy Impact:

While fantasy owners may not be interested in the full body of work from Moore, he does have quality starts in four of his last five starts and him moving to a competitive team adds win potential. Moore has seen his ERA drop from 5.56 to 4.54 over his last five starts and is a solid spot start. If he can continue his strong run and enhance his win potential on a team gearing up for a playoff run, he may be a decent SP4.
