Ryan Howard homers in loss to Rockies

by Kerry Kauffman | Thu, Jul 7th 11:35pm EDT

The Phillies had been playing good baseball of late, but got blowout by the Rockies on Thursday by the score of 11-2. Ryan Howard got the start for Tommy Joseph and knocked in both Phillies runs, going 2-for-4 with a home run. Howard now has 12 home runs and 27 RBI for the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Howard was 1-for-6 this month this three strikeouts before Thursday's game. He's struck out 68 times in 196 at-bats, only 16 walks and an anemic .158 batting average. The one positive is that Howard is averaging a home run every 16 at-bats. He's likely to continue to see more bench time than playing time moving forward.
