Yoenis Cespedes leaves game in third inning due to quad injury

by Nick Ritrivi | Sat, Jul 9th 1:57am EDT

Yoenis Cespedes left Friday night's game against the Nationals after three innings due to a strained right quad. Cespedes, who was named to the NL All Star team, was having an incredible season hitting .302 with 21 HR and 52 RBI before Friday's injury. (WOR 710 AM (NY) on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Another injury for the Mets who are dropping like flies lately. It remains to be seen how severe Cespedes' injury is, but Terry Collins stated after the game that he is likely out until after the All Star break (so at least two games). Cespedes will also, unfortunately, not play in the Mid-Summer Classic. For fantasy purposes, owners should monitor the situation since this injury may not require a DL stint and only mean a few days out of the lineup for Yo.
