Justin Upton with one hit in final game of first half

by Chris Zolli | Sun, Jul 10th 7:57pm EDT

Justin Upton finished 1-for-4 in the last game of the first half, a 6-1 loss for Detroit against Toronto. Upton is 11-for-38 in July with five extra-base hits, four RBI, and four runs scored. He has a .670 OPS this season.

Fantasy Impact:

Upton has been a massive disappointment this season, but has four multi-hit games in his last eight games and has seen his batting average jump from .227 to .235 since the beginning of the month. Even with a nice boost in his statistics since the beginning of the month, Upton is still not worthy of a starting OF position in standard leagues with a pace of 16 home runs and 69 RBI.
