Johnny Cueto allowed one run (no earned runs) on six hits in six innings, striking out nine batters and walking one batter in a no-decision against the Yankees. Cueto has a 3.00 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in July, registering two quality starts in his four starts. He has a 13-2 record and 2.53 ERA this season and will face the Nationals on July 28.
Fantasy Impact:
Cueto has struck out eight or more batters in three of his last four starts and has boosted his strikeouts per nine to 8.09. One cautionary trend is that Cueto has only induced 10 or more ground ball outs once in his last four starts after inducing 10 or more ground ball outs in five straight starts. Current Nationals' batters have a .488 OPS in 120 at-bats against Cueto, but Jayson Werth is 7-for-23 against the Giants' ace.
