Jonathan Lucroy not starting Thursday fueling trade buzz

Lucroy is not in the starting lineup for the Brewers Thursday afternoon game against the Diamondbacks. Martin Maldonado will start a catcher. Brewers' manager Craig Counsell says that it is just a scheduled day off for Lucroy. (Tom Haudricourt on Twitter)

Any time a player rumored in trade talks is held out of a game there will be some speculation that a trade is imminent. While Counsell has stopped that speculation today, Lucroy remains a focal point of numerous reports of trade discussions as the trade deadline approaches.
