Ryan Howard goes 1-for-5 versus Braves

by Kerry Kauffman | Sat, Jul 30th 11:41pm EDT

The Phillies made the most of nine hits in a 9-5 win over the Braves on Saturday. Ryan Howard got the start at first base in place of Tommy Joseph and went 1-for-5 with a run scored. Howard's lone hit was his sixth double and he's batting an anemic .168 for the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Howard will likely be back on the bench on Sunday and is starting only a couple times per week these days. He still can supply occasional power, as his 14 home runs in 226 indicates. However, his other numbers are very poor and is not getting enough playing time to have significant fantasy value.
