Max Scherzer loses no-hit bid in seventh inning

by Roy Widrig | Rangers Correspondent | Wed, Aug 10th 10:32am EDT

Nationals Ace Max Scherzer allowed an 0-2 single to Francisco Lindor to end a 6 1/3 inning no-hit bid Tuesday night. Things quickly fell apart for Scherzer, who then allowed Lindor and a second run to score, with the Nationals taking a 3-1 loss. Scherzer tossed seven great innings and allowed just three hits, two runs (one earned) and struck out 10.

Fantasy Impact:

Scherzer fell to 12-7 despite pitching an amazing game. With a 2.80 ERA and 0.91 WHIP, it's hard to find many MLB pitchers worth more than Scherzer, who should be in the Cy Young consideration.
