Jason Heyward scores a run versus the Cardinals Thursday

Heyward went 1-for-5 on Thursday. His lone hit was an infield single in the sixth where he would come around to score the third run of the inning.
Fantasy Impact:
The coaches have been working with him on lifting the ball more to cut down on the flurry of ground-outs that he was producing earlier this season. Heyward was the big-name free agent signing among the positional additions in the off-season. He has been outstanding on defense, but his bat has only recently started performing like people hoped and injuries have nagged at him, causing some missed games. Heyward will likely produce better eventually before the second half is over.
