Ryan Braun removed from game Tuesday with knee strain

by Brad Richter | Wed, Aug 17th 11:58am EDT

Braun was removed during the fourth inning of the second game of a doubleheader on Tuesday. Braun slid into the left-field wall in foul territory at Wrigley Field chasing a fly ball and twisted his left knee and ankle. The injury is being described as a "strain" as he "kind of hyperextended" it, according to Braun. (Tom Haudricourt on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Braun left the field under his own power but was showing a considerable limp. Braun will be evaluated over the next few days and will likely remain out of the lineup until further diagnosis takes place. A trip to the disabled list is possible. Fantasy owners should hold onto Braun until further information is known but should prepare to make other plans just in case he is out for a significant period of time.
