Justin Verlander earns another win on Sunday

Justin Verlander allowed one run on three hits in six innings in 10-5 win over the Red Sox on Sunday. Verlander is 1-1 with a 2.42 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and 26 strikeouts in 26 innings this month. He is 13-7 with a 3.38 ERA this season and will face the Angels in Detroit on August 27.

Verlander now has eight consecutive quality starts and has allowed two runs or less in nine of his last 10 starts. He has struck out five batters or more in each of his last ten starts and is second in the American League with 181 strikeouts this season. Current Angels have a .518 OPS in 84 career at-bats against Verlander and he is 8-4 with a 3.28 ERA at home this season.
