David Freese signs extension with the Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates and David Freese have agreed to a two-year extension with a team option for a third year. The extension could be worth up to $22.5M. (Jon Heyman on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
With the Pirates this season, Freese has hit .276 with 12 home runs and 49 RBI in 107 games this season. Freese adds great depth to the Pirates roster but is a borderline fantasy player. Freese would have more value if he were to get regular at-bats. For now, Freese should be an injury fill it at best.
