Masahiro Tanaka shut down Seattle for seven innings, allowing six hits and striking out five. He also issued a rare walk to Seth Smith in the third inning. Tanaka left the game with a 4-0 lead.

Tanaka has his ERA down to 3.11 and should be starting in all leagues. Notching his 11th win of the season and the rejuvenated Yankees offense has his value looking even higher to close out the season.
