Jacob deGrom has another rough outing in loss to Cardinals

by Nick Ritrivi | Rangers Correspondent | Thu, Aug 25th 9:08am EDT

Jacob deGrom was hit hard in his second consecutive start on Wednesday, allowing 12 hits, five earned runs, three HR and two walks in just 4 2/3 innings against the Cardinals. The Mets fell to St. Louis 8-1 and deGrom took the loss. His record now stands at 7-7 on the season.

Fantasy Impact:

After posting a series of consecutive quality starts, deGrom has hit a rut on this current road trip. He has now given up a total of 25 hits in his last two starts. In addition, his outing on Wednesday marked the first time in Mets' franchise history that a Mets pitcher allowed 12 hits in two consecutive starts. Despite the two recent brutal outings, owners should stay patient with deGrom who remains a top-tier SP. deGrom will next face the Marlins at home on Monday where he will look to get back on track.
