Julio Urias allowed six hits, one earned run, walked two, and struck out eight in six innings Saturday against the Chicago Cubs. 60-of-94 pitches were thrown for strikes.

That makes two straight impressive starts for the youngster, in which he went six innings in each start and allowed only one earned run total. The pitch count was 94 and 97 pitches respectively. With the bevy of injuries to the starting rotation, Urias could be ready to be a mainstay in the rotation and help down the home stretch. As it stands, he is scheduled to start at home to face the Padres, a team that ranks 8th in OPS against LHP.
