Justin Nicolino puts up a quality start in a spot start

by David A Marcillo | Mon, Aug 29th 11:42am EDT

Miami Marlins lefty Justin Nicolino was called up from Triple-A to start for Andrew Cashner, who had a blister. Nicolino ended up putting together a quality start, throwing six innings while allowing just three runs on eight hits and a walk. He did not record a strikeout.

Fantasy Impact:

Nicolino is challenging the definition of a quality start with this one. He did go the six innings and allowed just three runs, but eight hits and no strikeouts doesn't scream, "quality" as much as it screams, "Padres offense." Still, the result is what counts and Nicolino did well in what was an emergency start.
