Carlos Correa keeps hit streak going Tuesday

by James Ignatius Zeankowski | Twins Correspondent | Tue, Aug 30th 11:36pm EDT

Getting another start at shortstop Tuesday during the 3-1 series winning victory over the Oakland Athletics, Carlos Correa went 1-for-3 with a single. He also tallied a pair of ground outs. In spite of that, Correa has held to a very solid .275 average and .831 OPS on the season.

Fantasy Impact:

As of yesterday's contest, Correa has tied a single-season record for RBI by a shortstop in Astros' history with Miguel Tejada at 86. His other three, for 89 total on the season, came in a pinch hit appearance back in June in Anaheim when he hit a go ahead three-run homer. With this record being tied, along with being on pace for 100 RBI and slashing a very healthy .364/.375/.545 over his last seven games, the reigning AL Rookie of the Year and top-five consensus ranked shortstop is in anything but a sophomore slump. Fantasy owners should keep starting Carlos Correa with confidence.
