Carlos Correa breaks RBI record in Wednesday sweep

by James Ignatius Zeankowski | Twins Correspondent | Wed, Aug 31st 5:48pm EDT

Keeping at shortstop during Wednesday afternoon's 4-3 series sweeping victory over the Oakland Athletics, Carlos Correa went 1-for-3 with a RBI double to break the record for most RBI by a shortstop in Astros' single season history formerly held by Miguel Tejeda. He also tallied a ground out, strikeout and drew an intentional walk in the bottom of the 8th to start the rally. Correa holds to a stellar .276 average and .833 OPS on the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Breaking the shortstop RBI record at 90 total for 2016 will certainly help to keep the reigning AL Rookie of the Year and top-five consensus ranked shortstop going on this hot streak. With a slash line of .391/.400/.565 over the past seven games, Carlos Correa is a player fantasy owners need to keep starting on their rosters heading into playoffs.
