Derek Holland struggles in loss to Halos

by Mitch Cox | Thu, Sep 22nd 1:52am EDT

Derek Holland was unable to give the Rangers a quality start for the third straight time, as he was shelled for six hits and five runs over five innings in the Rangers 5-4 loss to the Angels. Holland, now 7-9, walked two and struck out three. His big mistake came in the fifth when he surrendered a three-run homer to Mike Trout.

Fantasy Impact:

Manager Jeff Bannister should be very concerned about his starting rotation with the playoffs on the horizon. Over the last six games, only Martin Perez has shown any sort of effectiveness. Holland, who was very solid over his first three starts coming off the disabled list has been miserable over his last three outings, giving up 23 hits and 14 runs in 14. 2 innings.
