Jaime Garcia traded to Braves for three mid-level prospects

by Steve Painter | Thu, Dec 1st 6:56pm EST

Jaime Garcia was traded to the Atlanta Braves today for three mid-level prospects, RH Chris Ellis, INF Luke Dykstra (son of Lenny) and RHP John Gant as the Braves continue their efforts to fill their 2017 rotation with veterans while their top pitching prospects continue to develop in the minors. The acquisition allows the team to be flexible with the rotation next year. Garcia does not fit in with the team's long-term plans, however, as his contract is for 2017, with an option for 2018.

Fantasy Impact:

Garcia, if he can stay healthy, will certainly be used next year and can be considered if your fantasy team has a good bit of depth on the roster for pitchers. He'll be with the Braves for a short stay and who knows, could be traded next summer before the deadline.
