Rangers tender contract to Jake Diekman

The Texas Rangers have tendered a contract to reliever Jake Diekman, along with six other players as they prepare for the Winter Meetings. The Rangers have one open slot on their 40-man roster with the release of Jared Hoying on Friday. (www.mlb.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Diekman was solid as a rock for the Rangers in 2016, recording a 4-2 record to go with four saves and an ERA of 3.40. The lefty allowed just 36 hits in 53 innings of work, and averaged 10 strikeouts per nine innings pitched.
