Notes
Acuna met the seismic hype, and then some, by hitting .293/.366/.552 with 26 homers and 16 steals in 111 sizzling rookie games. He flaunted his MVP ceiling by posting a .429 wOBA and 19 of those long balls after the All-Star break. He hasn't missed a beat in his sophomore campaign, batting .297/.376/.512 with 17 homers and nine steals. The 21-year-old is a legitimate 35/20 candidate who'd garner top-five consideration if drafting today.
Andrew Gould - FantasyPros
Everyone kept waiting for Bryant to turn the corner last season. They kept waiting all the way through April, but he has rewarded their patience by hitting .314/.442/.615 with 12 homers since the start of May. The 2016 NL MVP finally looks healthy from his debilitating shoulder injury, so managers can stop sweating. Those who rode out his rough April should at least receive a return on their third-round investment. The only red mark? He has just one steal in 69 games and three in 171 games dating back to 2018.
Andrew Gould - FantasyPros
Acuna is essentially on pace to repeat last season's excellent fantasy numbers. While his batting average is a little lower than expected, his plate disciplined has actually improved, so it's entirely possible he approaches a .300 average from here on out.
Andrew Seifter - FantasyPros
Those who kept the faith with Bryant have been richly rewarded, as he suddenly looks like the MVP-caliber hitter he was prior to the 2018 season. With his shoulder back to full health, expect the elite power production to continue for the foreseeable future.
Andrew Seifter - FantasyPros
Per plate apperance, Acuna was every bit as productive as consensus top-5 pick, Francisco Lindor, last season. Granted, Acuna doesn't qualify at shortstop, but that should tell you that the hype somehow hasn't driven him far enough up draft boards yet.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
Bryant missed 60 games last year and had his least efficient season of his career by quite a bit. There is some risk in drafting Bryant in the 3rd round, but he also comes with 40 homer upside, a batting average near .300 and both 100+ runs and RBIs
