J.J. Barea injured in Mavericks’ loss to Jazz

The injury bug bit the Dallas Mavericks again Friday night when backup point guard J.J. Barea went down with an apparent calf injury late in their loss to the Utah Jazz. “After a shot, I went to step to the side, and I think I ran into the fans behind me and the fans sitting down,†Barea said. “I looked back, but nobody touched me. When I went to step, that’s when I knew something was wrong with my calf.†The extent of the injury is not clear yet, but Barea is expected to miss weeks not days, according to Dallas coach Rick Carlisle. Fantasy Impact:
This is another shot of bad luck for Barea who was enjoying one of his best seasons until he was injured back in November. Devin Harris will likely eat up some more minutes due to this injury, but that does not mean he will produce meaningful fantasy production. Deron Williams and Seth Curry will likely wind up with more minutes too.
