Dwight Powell concludes season with 12 points

by Tom Williams | Mavericks Correspondent | Thu, Apr 13th 10:47am EDT

Dwight Powell scored 12 points on 2-of-11 shooting and grabbed three rebounds in the Mavericks’ 100-93 victory over the Grizzlies on Wednesday night. Powell played 34 minutes, made two threes, and hit all six of his free throw attempts.

Fantasy Impact:

It was a disappointing season for Powell who was not able to take as big of a step forward as he did in 2015-2016. With an average draft position of 149 on Yahoo, Powell greatly underperformed for fantasy owners, producing not nearly enough to warrant owning in him in any but the deepest of leagues. Powell played 77 games this year for the Mavs, establishing a career-high in points at 6.7, but will need to work on developing his outside shot if he’s going to be worth owning in the future. His rebounding numbers seemed to suffer the more shots he threw up. Going on 26 years of age, 2017 will be an important year for Powell to step up and establish himself as a fantasy force.
